Seattle.net is a public prototype. Transit, alerts, services, and current city checks are the most reliable parts right now. Event and neighborhood coverage is partial and may send you to official sources.
Transit
Driving and traffic
Start here when the question is how to move through Seattle by car, how current travel conditions look, or whether a route is worth attempting right now. This page keeps the public first read simple, then sends you to the right official tool when you need more.
Check live alerts
Use Alerts first if you want the strongest public read on closures, disruptions, and current travel notes.

Live Seattle-area movement notes
This is a public movement read built from the live alerts feed. It is useful for route awareness, but it is not a replacement for broader official travel maps or trip-specific navigation.
From 8 a.m. Monday, March 16 to noon Friday, March 20, the northbound Interstate 5 Seatac rest area (milepost 140) will close for maintenance.
From 10 p.m. Saturday, March 14 to 6 a.m. Sunday, March 15, the southbound Interstate 5 ramp to northbound Interstate 405 will close from the SEA Airport/Burien (milepost 154) to Southcenter Boulevard (milepost 154) for maintenance.
Friday, March 13, until the morning of Monday, March 16 - The westbound SR 520 off-ramp to East Roanoke Street in Seattle will close for construction beginning at 11 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday. Please note: The westbound SR 520 off-ramp to northbound I-5, which shares the same exit ramp as the ramp to Roanoke Street, is not affected by this work and will remain open.
Road conditions and movement
Use this lane when the trip is mainly by car or when road conditions shape the rest of the day. Seattle.net helps you read the current city movement picture, then hands off to the broader official tools when needed.
Bridges, ferries, and chokepoints
Seattle trips often depend on bridges, ferry connections, and a few chokepoints. Use these pages when movement around the water matters as much as the road itself.
Parking and city admin nearby
If the driving question becomes a city-account or parking task, move into the service lane built for those errands.
Parking and transportation accounts
Citations, permit parking, and the right account start points.
Back to Services
Return to the broader services hub if the task is more administrative than travel-related.
Open Brief
